December | Receive notification that you must submit your dossier for promotion by July 1st of the next year. |
May 1st | Submit CV, CV abstract, narratives, a short bio, and a contact list of 10 contacts for letters of reference (LORs), at least 6 of which must be “external” from (outside) the University and 4 “internal” in the LOR spreadsheet. |
May-June | The promotions team will send out requests to LOR writers using the contact information from LOR spreadsheet submitted. The promotions team will begin collecting all LORs. |
July 1st | The Department of Neurology official deadline to submit via email to Neurology-Promotions@cuanschutz.edu and upload final and complete version of dossier materials into Interfolio |
July-August | The Departmental Promotions Review Committee will meet and review the full dossier and all LORs received. After complete review, the committee submits its internal letter of recommendation to Dr. Tyler. |
September-October | Dr. Tyler reviews dossier, the committee’s recommendation letter and writes a letter of recommendation. The Department’s letters are added to the dossier and uploaded into Interfolio, then all materials are submitted to SOM. |
October 31st | School of Medicine final deadline for all promotion submissions. |

Important Note: Faculty members can only submit a mid-term dossier for review January 1st - March 31st yearly.
All dossiers are submitted electronically, using Interfolio Review, Promotion and Tenure®, an electronic submission and routing platform. Department administrators are responsible for providing faculty with information on submission of their dossier through this system. The "Interfolio" tab also provides information regarding the Interfolio Review, Promotion and Tenure® system.
The Department will set up an account for you in Interfolio and notify you with instructions on how to log in. Please do not set up your own account or pay for anything on that website.

These templates are intended to assist faculty in documenting their areas of excellence and meritorious accomplishments for their promotion dossier. There are separate templates for "excellence" and "meritorious" accomplishments.

There are three different series available for full-time (>50% FTE) faculty (including faculty employed at affiliated hospitals when their FTE between both institutions >50%). Click on the titles below to see the promotion criteria specific to that series.

The University of Colorado School of Medicine utilizes the Interfolio Review, Promotion and Tenure® online platform to manage and streamline the faculty appointment, promotion, and tenure processes. The system has been set up with templates to build dossiers in each of the three faculty series: Regular Faculty Series, Clinical Practice Series, and Research Professor Series.
